Socket Internet's owner, VP of research to speak at Columbia College open house
Monday, November 24, 2008

(COLUMBIA, Mo.) -- Columbia College will hold an open house from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2 for students interested in the college's Evening or Online campuses. The event is open to the public and will be held in Launer Auditorium on the Columbia College campus. Friends and family members also are welcome.

Admissions counselors, financial aid representatives and Evening Campus staff will be on hand to answer questions and provide campus tours while attendees enjoy appetizers and door prizes.

The presentation will include guest speaker and alumnus John Dupuy. Dupuy graduated in 1994 from Columbia College's Evening Campus with a degree in computer information systems. That same year, he co-founded Socket, Missouri's premier Internet and telecom provider. Open house participants can meet Dupuy and learn about the college's degrees, course offerings, student services and more.

"The open house provides prospective students the opportunity to learn more about the most exciting and comprehensive evening and online programs for adult learners," said Penny Sanders, admissions counselor. "As the economy weakens and jobs become increasingly competitive, a solid education becomes even more important," she said.

For more information or to RSVP for the open house, contact Sanders at pdsanders@ccis.edu or (573) 875-7348.
