Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)

Columbia College's B.A. and B.S. in Human Resource Management degrees are aligned with Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates. The guidelines are part of SHRM's Academic Initiative to define HR education standards. "Students enrolled in an HR degree program at an educational institution aligned to SHRM's core curriculum guidelines (SHRM HR Curriculum Guidelines) will be able to apply for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) exam". They must meet eligibility requirements (including experience) available at:

Small classes

Students benefit from small classes taught by leaders in the industry. You’ll also gain experience through internship opportunities.


Night class from outside of business building.

Built in 2019, New Hall houses the Robert W. Plaster School of Business. The first floor includes six classrooms with the latest educational technology and mobile furniture to allow for flexible seating. The first floor also includes event space, study areas and faculty offices. The top three floors house 150 students in suite-style rooms.

New Hall also has an outdoor terrace extending from the entrance of the building to the border of R. Marvin Owens field.
