Seabrook Writing Center and Tutoring Services Policies

  • All services are free and available while school is in session.
  • Services are provided for students currently enrolled in class on the home campus.  Tutoring and study sessions are not provided for any online or extended campus courses.  However, Writing Center staff are available for face-to-face consultations with local online students enrolled in English 107, 111, or 112.
  • Offices will close and tutors will not be available when Columbia College is closed for inclement weather.
  • Staff can assist with take-home tests and quizzes only if this is acceptable under the professor's course policy.
  • Staff will not teach material from missed classes.
  • Students are asked not to bring children with them to tutoring sessions. College policy also prohibits children under the age of 12 being left unattended on campus.
  • If a student is 15+ minutes late to his or her scheduled appointment at the Writing Center, that appointment time will be forfeited to another student.
