Overnight Visit

Attend an Overnight Visit to explore downtown Columbia, sleep over in the residence halls, experience student life outside of the classroom, and much more. Learn what it's really like to be CC student by asking current students as they provide tours of campus and answer your questions.

Overnight Visits are designed for high school juniors and seniors who have applied or been accepted to Columbia College. A $15 registration cost will be required when you RSVP to attend.

Parking

Free parking will be available in our non-residential lots, located along 8th Street and the corner of 10th and Rogers Street. For more information, view this campus map or directions to campus.

Arrival & departure

Check-in opens at 3:30 p.m. in Dulany Hall, Lee Room along Eighth Street. Upon arrival, you will be given your schedule for your evening, an informational packet, and CC T-shirt. ​Be sure to bring your luggage, blankets, pillows, and personal items with you to Check-In.​ Please plan to stay for the duration of the event which is expected to end around 10:00 a.m. the following day (Saturday). This is a student-only event.

Event schedule

All visiting students are invited to take a walking tour of campus with Student Ambassadors, which will last approximately one hour. Your tour will include visits to the residence halls, dining hall, athletic complex, classrooms, and much more. Following the campus tour, you will meet faculty and learn more about their thoughts and expectations for new students. Visiting students will take a walking tour of downtown Columbia and dine at a local hot spot with current students. The evening will end on the campus quad with music, games, s'mores and much more! Visiting students will stay overnight in the residence halls with current student leaders. The event ends with breakfast on Saturday morning before students leave campus by 10:00 a.m.

Suggested packing list

Once your RSVP and registration fee have been received, you will received more detailed information in your confirmation packet.

  • Clothing for two days and appropriate sleep wear (jacket if cooler weather)
  • Toiletries (shower essentials, towel, etc.)
  • Personal care products (hair care, make-up, toothbrush, etc.)
  • Sleeping bag, blanket, & pillow (students will sleep on the floor of the res hall rooms)
  • Medications and copy of insurance card
  • Miscellaneous (phone charger, petty cash, earphones, etc.)

Dining

Complimentary dinner, snacks, and breakfast in our dining hall and local restaurants will be provided for all students. Please notify the Admissions Office if you have any dietary needs or restrictions at (573) 875-7352.

Overnight accommodations - guests only
