(COLUMBIA, Mo.) -- Myles Hinkel has joined Columbia College as the director of development for major and planned gifts. In this role, he will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward current and potential donors for gifts of $10,000 and above. He will serve as a representative for the college and its mission when working in the broader local or national community.
Hinkel previously served as a development officer for the University of Missouri-Columbia. Prior to that, he was director of development for Boys & Girls Town of Missouri and executive director of Missouri Valley Big Brothers and Big Sisters. He served as the assistant men's soccer coach for Columbia College from 1998 to 2000.
“I am humbled and excited to be a part of the team at Columbia College," said Hinkel. "This institution has an important mission and I’m thrilled to have an opportunity to work with contributors as they help to move Columbia College forward."
Hinkel is a member of the United Way Speakers Bureau and an advisory committee member for the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders. He previously served as an Optimist Club member and a volunteer for the Special Olympics and Big Brother organizations. He received a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Louisville (Ky.) where he received an athletic scholarship.
