Columbia College celebrates 10-year anniversaries at Hunter Army Airfield and Fort Stewart
Columbia College will celebrate 10 years of educational excellence on Thursday, May 10, at both of its Georgia campuses. The Columbia College-Hunter Army Airfield celebration will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Hunter Army Airfield Education Center, Building 1290, located at 165 Markwell St., Hunter Army Airfield, Ga. The Columbia College-Fort Stewart celebration will take place from 2-4 p.m. at the Army Education Center located at 100 Knowledge Drive, Suite 147, Fort Stewart, Ga. All faculty, staff, students and area alumni are invited to attend.
Speakers include: Dr. Don Stumpf, director of Columbia College-Hunter Army Airfield; Ron Aikens, former director of Columbia College-Hunter Army Airfield; Education Services Officer Pamela King; Richard Conroy, director of Columbia College-Fort Stewart; Retha Barron, Columbia College-Fort Stewart faculty member; and Dr. Gerald Brouder, president of Columbia College.
"Both Georgia campuses have experienced a multi-year period of unprecedented and steady enrollment growth as more service members and civilian learners recognize that Columbia College’s flexible schedules and online courses work for them," said Brouder. “We look forward to another 10 years of educational excellence.”
Both Columbia College-Hunter Army Airfield and Columbia College-Fort Stewart were established in 2002 to serve the military population and their families on the bases and in the surrounding communities.
Each campus offers four associate and five bachelor’s degree programs in-seat as well as 23 associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees online.
