Columbia College is a private, homeschooling friendly, four-year liberal arts and sciences college. Located in Columbia, Missouri, we are affiliated by covenant with the Disciples of Christ Church. Current enrollment in the Day Program is more than 1,200 students.
Columbia College provides personal attention for homeschooled students through a low student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1, the Math and Writing Center and many other on-campus student services.
Homeschooled students’ academic records should reflect a college bound curriculum with a minimum of four units of English, three units of math (two years of algebra and one year of geometry), two units of natural science, and two units of social studies. Columbia College does accept some CLEP and Online Course credit.
Columbia College has many leadership and student involvement opportunities including academic honors organizations, BACCHUS, Student Government Association, Partners in Education, and many more.
Residence halls offer a friendly, comfortable living environment with climate control, cable television, and Internet access provided in each room.
Columbia College boasts the best of both worlds: a strong liberal arts and sciences college on a small campus in a true “college town.” The campus is within walking distance of Columbia's vibrant downtown.
Columbia College is a “good fit” for homeschooled students. Each year shows an increase in the number of homeschooled students who are choosing to attend Columbia College.
Admitted applicants in their final year of homeschooling who score a 26 or higher on the ACT or 1190 or higher on the SAT are invited to participate in one of our scholarship days in January or February. Columbia College awards five Columbia College Scholarships (full tuition, room and board) and five Presidential Scholarships (full tuition).
Other merit-based awards and scholarships are also available. View the Scholarship Finder to see if you are eligible for other awards. To qualify, please submit a personal resume of activities.
Additional financial aid is available based upon demonstration of need in the form of grants and loans by completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Visit our financial assistance web page for more information.
Some homeschooled students are eligible for "dual enrollment." These students can take a Columbia College course at the main campus, online, or at one of our nationwide campuses while completing their secondary education coursework. Please contact the Admissions Office for more details.
