Your academic experience is the heart of a college degree. At Columbia College, we combine traditional arts and sciences education with a contemporary perspective on the working world. All programs offer the same high standards of excellence in teaching and learning. Many of the academic programs include an internship or practicum, enabling you to obtain practical experience in addition to the more theoretical classroom instruction.
Teaching and learning are our first priority. The student-faculty ratio of 14:1 fosters personal attention and animated discussion. The relatively small size of the classes promotes excellent communication and rapport among students and faculty members.
We are proud of the richness inherent in our disciples heritage and seek to reflect these ties in our academic offerings. Thanks to the generous support of a Disciples of Christ benefactor, an academic minor in ethics, philosophy and religious studies is now available to Columbia College students. Additionally, beginning in fall of 2001, students enrolling at Columbia College will be required to take an ethics course as part of the general education core.
