Photo 150 is a beginning black and white photo course, a
foundation for all photography courses. Photo 150 covers basic
camera operations, exposure, characteristics of light, concepts,
composition, film processing, printing, print finishing, and
discussion of the history of photography and issues related to
photography. There will be a required number of photographic
assignments and critiques throughout the semester. Lab fee
required. Students supply own adjustable film camera. No
digitals. Photography 252 is a concentration of special
techniques in 35mm photography and the use of the zone system,
studio lighting, close-up photography and a specialized method
of exposure and development. Along with improving technique and
visual awareness will be a major emphasis of this course.

test and critiques throughout the semester. Prerequisite: Arts
150. Lab fee required. Students supply own adjustable film
