How long have you worked for Columbia College? 5 months
Hometown Hershey, Pa.
What did you do before joining Columbia College? I worked at Clearwater (Fla.) Christian College as assistant to the dean of women for two years. While working there, I got my master's degree in school guidance counseling from Argosy University, Tampa, Fla. I was in Florida for a total of six years and came to Missouri to be married this summer to my husband, who works here at Columbia College.
Hobbies I enjoy spending time with family and friends, shopping, baking and watching Broncos games with my husband.
Tell us about your family My husband, Bryan, is Columbia College's intramural coordinator and facility manager, and we got married this past June in Hershey, Pa. We honeymooned in San Diego. My dad has his own insurance business and mom is a retired school teacher, and they have been happily married for 27 years. I have one sister, Erin, a third grade teacher in Clearwater, Fla.
Tell us about someone that influenced you My former boss at Clearwater Christian College, Sandra Pratt, was a huge influence in my life. She encouraged me to always be the best I could be, and to give 100 percent in everything I do. She was a very wise lady, and I learned a lot watching her handle difficult situations. She took an interest in my life, and made it possible for me to get my master’s degree.
If you could do anything in the world, what would that be? I would love to visit Scotland, Switzerland, Greece and a tropical island.
Favorite book My favorite book is Judith Viorst's Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. It’s a kid's book—and a must-read for anyone after a bad day.
Tell us a fact about yourself few people know I absolutely LOVE Chick-fil-A!!
What is your favorite word? Chocolate.
What is your favorite food? I have a big sweet tooth—so most any candies or desserts. But I also love chicken and rice.
What is your favorite sports team? Definitely the Columbia College Cougars but the Denver Broncos are a very close second.
