Columbia College–Crystal Lake celebrated the campus' 20th anniversary with a cake, campus tours and online course demonstrations in mid-October. Debra Hartman, director, welcomed guests and provided an historical overview of the campus and its educational offerings. Tony Miska, vice president of Academic and Student Affairs at McHenry County College; Gary Reece, Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce president; and Mike Randerson, Columbia College vice president for AHE, also spoke on the stellar job the campus had done in producing over 1,100 graduates in 20 years.
Columbia College-Crystal Lake was established in 1989 at McHenry County College and moved to the University Center near downtown Crystal Lake in 2000. The campus relocated to its current home on Route 31 in 2008.
