Employee focus

Employee focus Cindy Fotti, assistant director of athletics

How long have you worked for Columbia College? I came to Columbia College as a student in 2002 and started working immediately as a work-study student. The next year I started helping out in the sports information office and Iíve been here ever since!

Hometown Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

What did you do before joining Columbia College? I was a student at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Hobbies/interests I love to play sports. I think thatís a requirement for a job like mine! I especially like to run. I also enjoy scrapbooking and eating out with friends when time allows.

Tell us about your family My entire family lives in Canada so I donít get to see them too often. My parents have been together for 34 years and love to come to Missouri on vacation. I have an older brother who is married with a son, Nolan.

Tell us about someone that greatly influenced you In high school I hated to run but a friend convinced me to come to cross-country practice. I went just to make my friend happy and ended up loving it Ö mostly because of the coach. She made me look at running in a different light and taught me to appreciate all the little things in life. She is one of my best friends to this day and I wear a charm she gave me in 1997 for good luck whenever I race or play sports.

If you could do anything in the world, what would that be? Skydiving! Someday!

Favorite movie I love movies. My top three would have to be The Parent Trap, A League of Their Own and I Am Sam.

Tell us a fact about yourself few people know I want to work at Walt Disney World. It has been a dream of mine since I was little!

What is your favorite word? Eh? It may not be in the dictionary but itís part of the Canadian language.

What is your favorite food? Pirogues with sour cream.

What is your favorite sports team? The Columbia College Cougars, of course!!
