Kirk Wallace named as supervisor of the year

Kirk Wallace named as supervisor of the year He was nominated by student employees in the Student Success Office.

Kirk Wallace, director of student success, was chosen as the 2014 Student Employee Supervisor of the Year. He was nominated by the student workers in the Student Success Office. Read highlights from their nomination:

“We think Kirk deserves this award for so many reasons; it is difficult to express in words what an incredible supervisor he is. Kirk is very dedicated to his job, student employees, and Columbia College.”

“He sets high expectations for his student employees, but always makes sure to provide us with the knowledge, skills, and understanding for how to meet those expectations. Kirk believes in us and our qualities as student employees.”

“Kirk is not only a great supervisor because of his consistency, hard work, dedication, helpfulness, and expectations, but also because he is a great mentor and person in general. He is always happy and in good spirits. He pushes us to grow in ways we didn’t know we could. He has the upmost respect for each and every one of his student employees. We each feel that we can approach with Kirk with not only work matters, but problems we may be having with school as well. He goes out of his way to help us resolve any issue which shows his consideration and concern that each student have a positive experience at Columbia College. He wants us to succeed in everything that we do. He values each student employee individually and is genuinely concerned for their well-being.”

“He always maintains that we are students first and does not allow the job to become too stressful for us. He has created a fun and enjoyable work environment.”

“He not only goes above and beyond for his student employees, but also for any student at Columbia College. He is a friendly face around campus and he is always focused on what the students want. He has helped Columbia College become a better place!”
