Creating a college culture of assessment

Creating a college culture of assessment Professor Gretchen Hendrickson hired as assessment coordinator.

The college announced Dr. Gretchen Hendrickson, assistant professor of psychology, has been named assessment coordinator of Columbia College. This new position will help the college in creating a culture of assessment.

“As the college works to bolster its assessment efforts, we needed an individual with vast institutional knowledge to lead this initiative,” said Dr. David Roebuck, interim dean for Academic Affairs. “Dr. Hendrickson has done a wonderful job within our organization and was the perfect choice to help get this initiative going. We look forward to working with her in her new role.”

The assessment coordinator’s primary objective is to ensure academic departments are in compliance with the Academic Assessment Program at Columbia College. Hendrickson’s duties include educating faculty on assessment, working with faculty to identify assessments already being collected within the department and evaluating the results.

Along with her assessment duties, Hendrickson will teach six credit hours of psychology each semester and will maintain her status as a full-time faculty member.
