An update on the presidential searchThe college has identified three finalists.
After a weekend interviewing semifinalists at a neutral site in St. Louis, three finalists for the next president have been identified, Columbia College announced Nov. 19.
“The search committee under the leadership of Rev. Dr. John J. Yonker did a wonderful job and worked diligently to bring you these candidates whom they believe will be a good fit for Columbia College,” wrote Daisy Grossnickle, chair of the board of trustees, in an email.
Finalists will be on campus Jan. 12 – 16, 2014. Each candidate will have approximately one and a half days to interview and meet with key constituency groups, beginning at Columbia College-St. Louis and then traveling to main campus. They will also virtually meet with Nationwide Campuses.
To protect the integrity of the search process, the names of the candidates will remain confidential until Jan. 2, 2014. Faculty, staff, students, administration and trustees will receive each candidate’s biography, photo and vita that day via email.
On Jan. 17, 2014, the board of trustees will hold a special executive session to select the 17th president of Columbia College. The new president will be announced when the offer is accepted.
