#GivingTuesday: A day for giving backThe college will participate by promoting the CCAA's "50 for 50" campaign.
“We have a day for giving thanks. We have two for getting deals… Wouldn’t it be great to have a day for giving back?”
That’s the mission statement of #GivingTuesday™, a campaign to create a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season. It celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations.
Columbia College participated in the inaugural #GivingTuesday last year and is participating again on Dec. 3. This year, check ChooseCC.org on Dec. 3 to find out about a special matching program that could double the value of your gift.
For this year’s day dedicated to giving back, the college is promoting the idea of giving to Columbia College Alumni Association’s “50 for 50” campaign, where people are challenged to give $50 or more to celebrate the association’s 50 years in existence.
To honor this milestone, the association is endowing a scholarship that allows Columbia College and Christian College alumni to provide a gift for the alumni of tomorrow. The CCAA Scholars Program awards two scholarships each year.
In an effort to raise awareness and to help raise funds for the scholarship, the college has registered the CCAA, main campus and all AHE campuses on the #GivingTuesday website. You can search for your preferred location or department on the Partners section of the site.
