Brazilian students will study English at the collegeThe students are all undergraduates in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
This semester, Columbia College plays host to Brazilian students participating in the Brazil Scientific Mobility Program Intensive English program. These students, all of whom are third year undergraduates studying in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics fields, will engage in intensive English programming over the course of the semester.
“We are excited to host these students,” said Keila Ferree, manager of international admissions. “We’ve been working very hard to attract international students in an effort to make our campus truly diverse, and we feel there are great opportunities for our students to learn unique things about each other.”
Although students will spend an initial semester studying English, the opportunity exists for these students to return in the spring for continued English or academic studies.
