Testing Center receives national certification

The center is one of only three that are certified in Missouri.

The main campus Testing Center has been officially certified by the National College Testing Association.

The college received this designation by adhering to professional standards related to facilities, equipment, ADA compliance, staffing, hours of operation and a few other aspects of testing center operation. The process requires a self-study, inspection and formal review by the certification board.

To date, there are only three certified testing centers in Missouri: Columbia College, Missouri University of Science & Technology and Three Rivers Community College - Poplar Bluff. In addition, only 41 exist nationwide.

Stefanie McCollum, director of the Technology Solutions Center; Michelle Shipp, assistant director of the center; and Kyle McGerald, Testing Center supervisor — with the support of Dr. Brouder and Chief Information Officer Kevin Palmer — spent nearly a year preparing the documentation, coordinating the activities, ensuring that the college met the standards, and correcting any issues that arose during the certification process.
