A top school for military students

The Military Times ranked the college 13th for tuition assistance students.

Columbia College was recognized as a top tuition assistance school by the Military Times.

Due to its excellence in military education, the college has attracted so many military tuition assistance students that it received a ranking of 13th. There are more than 5,600 students using tuition assistance at Columbia College.

The Military Times is a Gannett Company media organization that publishes newspapers, magazines and websites about the U.S. military.

The Military Times also named Columbia College to their “Best for Vets: Colleges 2013” list. The annual designation was based on accreditation, graduation rates, veteran staff, transfer credit policies, academic support and participation in the Yellow Ribbon program. The "Best for Vets" ranking reflects our commitment to providing excellent educational opportunities and service to our veterans.

Many military members rely on tuition assistance from their service branch to attend college. In March, federal cuts were made to the assistance, and Columbia College deferred tuition charges while the students sought other funding. Military tuition assistance was reinstated in April.
