An article written by Dr. Christopher Babayco, assistant professor of chemistry, will be published in Langmuir, one of the most prestigious interdisciplinary journals in chemistry/materials science.
The paper, titled “Evolution of Conformational Order During Self-Assembly of n-Alkanethiols on Hg Droplets: An Infrared Spectro-microscopy Study,” will appear in the publication in the next or following issue. Langmuir is published by the American Chemical Society.
Babayco also is a recent recipient of a summer research grant. He has been awarded the grant to study porphyrins, a group of organic compounds that help form substances in the body, such as hemoglobin.
