A Community of Giving
Nearly half of all faculty and staff give to the College.
Columbia College's success is fueled by the philanthropic efforts of many people just like you. Faculty and staff (including 100 percent of Technology Services) gave more than $181,000 to Columbia College in 2012. If you donated last year, you should have recently received a gift receipt, which you can use for tax purposes.
“I’m inspired by the opportunity to give back a bit to an institution that provides a pleasant work environment and excellent benefits to its employees and to see my money provide scholarships to a high quality of student,” says Karen Fry, an accounting refunds clerk in the Business Office.
To join the many employees who support our college, make a payroll pledge to benefit areas such as scholarships and other academic programs for students, academic initiatives, campus developments and technology. The E-Scholarship Endowed Fund, for example, seems to be a popular choice among employees who choose to donate their dollars. Of the amount given by staff, 14.11 percent went to this fund.
“You don’t have to contribute a lot to make a big difference,” says Nathan Fleischmann, Director of Annual Giving. “Try starting with $4 a paycheck, and within a year you’ll be eligible for the 1851 Society.”
