Student of the Month
Congratulations to retention ambassador Tabi Williams.
Tabi Williams works as a retention ambassador for the Retention Office. “Tabi is the most complete student worker that we have had on our team in the past four years at Columbia College,” says Kirk Wallace, who nominated Williams for the award. “The duties and the responsibilities that we have given her are on par with what I would expect from someone in a full-time staff Retention Coordinator position. Williams’ responsibilities include organizing student worker team-building events, assisting with interviews and encouraging students to return for advising and register for classes. She also runs the student document imaging center that has scanned 245,000 pages this semester.
Retention ambassadors are responsible for manning the St. Clair front desk from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day; Williams developed a matrix to ensure continual coverage, in addition to compiling a continuity binder to assist the students with any questions or issues they might encounter while on duty.
“Our students now provide timely and accurate customer service to anyone walking into St. Clair,” says Wallace, noting that Williams has done similar work for the Enrollment Management front desk in Missouri Hall.
“Tabi’s attention to detail coupled with her generosity and outgoing personality has had a significant impact in our office and on the Columbia College campus,” Wallace says. “She has raised the attitude and enthusiasm to the point that everyone enjoys coming to work. Tabi is a phenomenal person, student and retention ambassador. Columbia College and the Retention Office have been blessed to have had Tabi on our team.”
