Professor Emeritus Ben Cameron presented at the first art exhibition of the school year in Columbia College’s Brown Hall. A reception was held Wednesday, Aug. 29. The gallery show will continue until Sept. 28.
The show consists of paintings, drawings and prints and is a retrospective of Cameron’s work throughout his distinguished career. “At first I was afraid I wouldn’t have enough work,” Cameron mused. “But when I started to hang my work, I realized there was plenty to show.”
Cameron taught in the Art Department for nearly 40 years, where he taught advanced drawing, printmaking and design. Though he resigned his full-time position in May 2012, he continues to direct the Brown Hall galleries and will teach one course per semester for the next two years.
