Great news for bibliophiles

Newly extended hours for students and staff at the Stafford Library to begin in September.
1. Open Until Midnight! New for the 2012-13 academic year, the library will be open until midnight Central Standard Time, Sunday through Thursday, when classes are in session. Note that these extended hours will begin sometime in September. Until then, the library will be open until 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.
2. Database Additions. The library has added both socINDEX and RMA Annual Statement Studies (eStatement Studies) databases. For descriptions, see the library’s Databases A-to-Z page.
3. Database Deletions. The library has stopped subscribing to the Historical New York Times database. We now recommend searching the New York Times website directly and requesting full-text from us via interlibrary loan.
4. Films on Demand Streaming Video. The library has added Films on Demand: Master Academic Collection, an academically-focused streaming video collection of more than 8,800 titles. Share complete videos or segments with students and others by copying the URL provided below the video play area. You can also embed a video on any website, including D2L.
5. Chronicle of Higher Education Online. You can now access the complete online version of the Chronicle of Higher Education. Use the library provided URL to make sure you are authenticated through the library’s proxy (https://proxy01.ccis.edu/login?url=http://chronicle.com). Also, sign up for any of the Chronicle’s varied Newsletters (email updates). They’re great!
6. Choice Reviews Online. Read reviews of academic books, electronic media, and Internet resources of interest to higher education. More than 7,000 reviews are published yearly.
