Classroom Presentations
The Career Services staff would enjoy the opportunity to do a presentation on career planning strategies in your classroom. Below are just some of the topics we could present:

  • Overview of Career Services and tour of the Career Center
  • Career assessment tests/evaluation
  • Résumé writing and interviewing
  • Job search strategies
  • Graduate school

Career Planning Timeline
Encourage your students to make every year a career planning year.

Letters of Recommendation
Have you been asked to write a letter of recommendation for a student? You may want to review these helpful tips before you start.

Internship Office
Encourage students to do internships. For help in locating internships have students contact Career Services for help. (573) 875-7425

Refer a student for an appointment
To take advantage of our service students sometimes a mentor to refer them to Career Services.

Career Counseling
If you find a student may benefit from career testing to gain insight about one's interests, abilities and values, please recommend our services have them set up an appointment for the student to meet with a career counselor.

Choosing a Major
Perhaps the student is very distressed about making a decision about which major to declare. Recommend Career Services.

Résumés
When students are preparing for their job hunts, some may find it difficult to put their résumés and cover letters together, refer students for a résumé critique appointment.

Interviewing
If a student is anxious about an interview or has never been through the interview process, suggest the student take advantage of our mock interview program.

Graduate / Professional School
If student is applying to a graduate or professional schools an needs assistance preparing their application, refer him or her to our office.

Additional resources
The Career Services office has partnered with College Central Network, a résumé software management program.
