OPEN POSITIONS for Spring 2014 (December 16 - May 4):
-*Grossnickle Career Services Office Assistant
Description: Provide assistance with the following tasks: Searching and entering job and/or internships into the on\line system CCNet(20/shift is required), Weekly updates job board & listings, Make telephone calls to keep updated information for internship opportunities, Create flyers/posters for job announcements using powerpoint and word, Assist with the annual career fair, Assist in making phone calls to past graduates (consists of 1,000 + calls), Assist with various projects throughout the year, Assist with information booths to promote Career Services. 5 hours available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. Applicant must be able to work independently and as a team. Ability to multi task. A student must be able to sit at a computer for 2+ hours at a time. Experience with customer service and Microsoft Office especially Excel is preferred.
-* Alumni Relations Student Assistant
Description: Provide assistance with the following tasks: Assist with organizing alumni events. Assist with alumni relations projects. Assist with updating the alumni relations web site. Assist with collating alumni stories. Assist with updating alumni relations social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc). Assist with updating alumni records in Raiser ' s Edge (the alumni database). Conduct campus tours for visiting alumni, when required. Conduct research on alumni-related programming. Assist with day-to-day office work. All other duties as assigned. 15 hours available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. Must be flexible and available to work varied hours. Must be comfortable working with diverse and multiple individuals and groups. Must be courteous, friendly, and polite. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Ability to work as a team player. Excellent communication skills is a must.
-* Clerical/Technology Support- Education Department
Description: Typing, filing, and creating documents for sharing among organizations. Document development, and PPT or Prezi presentations.10 hours available. Qualifications: Proficient with Excel spreadsheets and Google docs. Must be Work Study eligible.
-*Volunteer Room Worker/Helper/Front Desk Receptionist- Central Food Bank
Description: Provide assistance with the following tasks: Assist with repacking and/or sorting of food. Assist with maintaining the Volunteer Room and processing equipment cleanliness utilizing superior housekeeping and sanitary techniques. Assist with work area set-up and break-down for each specific project. Assist with inventory on Volunteer Room supplies. Assist as receptionist at front desk receiving volunteers/donors. Work at all times to maintain the image of The Food Bank as a positive one in the public view, most specifically as it pertain to the critical nature of volunteer relations. All other duties as assigned. 15 hours available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. Must be flexible and available to work varied hours. Must be comfortable working with diverse and multiple individuals and groups. Must be courteous, friendly, and polite. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Ability to work as a team player
-* Evening Campus Office Assistant
Description: Evening Campus Office Assistant will greet and assist students, faculty and staff in person, on the telephone and via email. Filing, data entry and clerical responsibilities will also be expected. Other duties as assigned. 15 hours available. Some evening hours will be requested. Office is open untill 8:00 pm. Qualications: Must be Work Study eligible. Assistant must be dependable, self-motivated, patient, courteous, detail oriented, practice superior customer service and able to maintain confidentiality. The assistant must perform job duties in accordance with Columbia College ' s vision, mission and values. The assistant must display respect and civility to all constituencies regardless of the method of contact or communication.
-* Tech Services - Network Services Assistant
Description: The Network Services Assistant position will work with the College's Network Services staff in monitoring, maintaining, and setting up various parts of the network infrastructure for Columbia College. Work hours: Variable with student class schedule. 20 hours available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. The applicant must strive for excellence in customer service and function as a proactive customer advocate, have strong technical troubleshooting skills, communicate clearly and accurately in verbal and written format. The applicant needs a high level of energy and outgoing personality, as well as the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with a minimum of direction; must be organized, have an attention to detail, use good judgment and ability to set priorities.
-*Institutional Research Student Assistant
Description: The Institutional Research office provides technical, organizational and analytical support for a broad range of Columbia College data needs, originating both internally and externally. The Institutional Research Assistant position will support a broad range of data support needs. Responsibilities include: General Data Entry, Creation of forms and templates, Process mapping and data dictionary documentation, Creating and updating spreadsheets and Create and Edit training videos. 20 hours available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. Strong Microsoft Office skills especially with Excel and Access. Experience with SharePoint, InfoPath, Visio, PowerPoint, and OneNote are a plus. Previous office experience preferred.
-* International Student Services-Student Staff
Description:Assist in program development, preparation and implementation as well as the daily functions in the International Student Services office.Create publicity and marketing materials for events and programs sponsored by International Student Services.Process and review applications from international students for Optional Practical Training (OPT).Prepare OPT applications for submission to the Department of Homeland Security for adjudication.Develop Google Docs for use by international students to sign up for events and appointments with invited guests.Coordinate the purchase of items for welcome baskets for new international students as well as the assembling of the baskets and delivery to the residence halls.Track inventory of items for welcome baskets from semester to semester and determine what items need to be purchased.Develop forms, spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides/presentations and other documents used in the office.Research and compile data related to international education initiatives and organize information in a logical and usable format.Generate written correspondence to send to international students regarding tax obligations, travel during school breaks and the mandatory health insurance program.Facilitate the mandatory insurance program for international students, including processing enrollments, producing insurance cards and contacting students to pick up necessary information.Review the international students section of the college ' s website and provide feedback on information that is relevant to our student population.Other duties as assigned by the Director and Graduate Assistant in International Student Services. 10 hours avaliable. Qualifications: Must be Work Program elligable. This position requires self-motivation, creativity, dependability and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate will:work in a fast paced, ever changing environment;be efficient and detail-oriented;focus on quality and complete projects in a timely manner;possess effective written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong commitment to customer service;observe confidentiality while working with student records.Creative and artistic skills are a must. Proficiency with Internet research and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential and experience with Adobe Creative Design Suite is preferred.
-*Online Campus Student Assistant
Description:Create transcripts and captions to accompany videos.Filing and data entry.Assist with opening and pre-packaging promotional items used by recruiters.Assist recruiters with packing/unpacking promotional materials and literature before and after events. Other duties as assigned.15 hours avaliable. Qualifications: Must be Work Study elligable.Excellent spelling and grammar skills.Strong typing skills.Must be available to work assigned hours.Must have excellent work ethic and the ability work productively with minimal supervision.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Ability to work as a team player.Knowledge of Microsoft Office is a plus.
-*Honors Program/Communication Studies Assistant
Description:Student will assist the Honors Program Director in working on Honors Program admissions materials, including applications to the Honors Program. When possible, student will also assist in work for the National Communication Association Performance Studies archives. 10 hours avilable. Qualifications: Must be Work Study elligable.Keen attention to detail is a must! Proofreading, organization, creative thinking, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Additional skills in graphic design and/or illustration are a bonus, but not required.
-*Financial Aid Word Study - Client Services
Description:The Client Services Financial Aid Work Study position requires attention to detail, strong analytical thinking skills and high accuracy. Students must have good writing and computer skills. Student must be able to work in a quiet environment. Responsibilities of position: Read and assign incoming e-mails to processing sections.Respond to certain incoming emails.Run and review basic reports and learn basic financial aid status checks.Review submitted documents and enter document data.Other duties as assigned. 20 hours avaliable. Qualifications: Must be Work Study elligiable. Knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred. Ability to work independently in a fast- paced office is essential.
OPEN POSITIONS for Nationwide Campuses - Spring 2014 (December 16 -May 4):
-* Office Assistant - Salt Lake, UT
Description: Office Assistant will primarily be performing filing and data entry responsibilities. Greeting and assisting students, faculty, and staff in person, on the telephone, and via e-mail may also be expected. Sorting paperwork in student files in preparation for scanning by staff. Office Assistant will also be responsible for cleaning tables, boards, and preparing classrooms for classes. Office Assistant will also be responsible for assisting with various projects throughout the year and complete other duties as assigned. Work hours flexible/Some weekend work may be required. 16 hours available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. Applicant must be able to work a flexible schedule. Be dependable, self-motivated, patient, courteous, trustworthy and detail oriented. Should have excellent computer literacy a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to multitask with attention to detail; and general secretarial skills. Business casual dress required.
-*Rolla Campus Office Assistant
Description: Assist with front desk activities, such as answering phone calls and helping walk-in traffic. Assist with calls to students. Assist with various projects through the year, such as holiday meals, faculty meetings, and the annual Rolla Campus Commencement. Copy materials for faculty. Maintain bulletin boards. Maintain faculty/staff lounge. Fill in when needed in staff absence. Work days and times are variable. Qualifications: Must be Work Study. Applicant must be able to work in a fast- paced environment and have the ability to multi task. Personal attributes must include a pleasant demeanor, friendly customer service, ability to maintain confidentiality, and contribute to the professionalism of the campus. Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
-*Student Assistant- Denver, CO
Description: Office Assistant will fulfill filing duties for folders, and applications. Office Assistant will offer assistance to full-time staff as needed. Office Assistant serves as application processor, updating applicant spreadsheet with current/ update application information. Help with walk-in traffic. Proactively track office supplies & cleanliness of office and classrooms, and faculty lounge. Office Assistant will also be responsible for cleaning tables, boards and preparing rooms for classes. Assisting with various projects through the year. Other duties as assigned. 18 hours available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. Applicant must be able to work in a very fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Ability to provide excellent and friendly customer service. Dress appropriately. Ability to multi task. Experience with customer service, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is preferred.
-* Office Assistant-Ft. Leonard Wood, MO
Description: Office Assistant will fulfill filing duties for folders, and applications. Office Assistant will help implement Faculty Meetings, New Student Orientations and other events hosted throughout the year. Office Assistant serves as application processor, updating applicant spreadsheet with current/ update application information. Help with walk in traffic. Forwarding incoming applications via email, and paper applications. Office Assistant will also be responsible for cleaning tables, boards and preparing rooms for classes. Assisting with various projects through the year. Other duties as assigned. Monday - Friday flexible. 12 hours are available. Qualifications: Must be Work Study eligible. Applicant must be able to work in a very fast paced, ever changing environment. Dress appropriately. Ability to multi task. Experience with customer service, and Microsoft Office especially Excel is preferred.
