Evening Campus Scholarships

This is a general reference guide only. For detailed information regarding terms and conditions of scholarships and renewal criteria, please review the "Scholarships, Awards, and Grants" section of your academic catalog. Find your catalog on the Registrar Web site. Institutional scholarships listed apply to tuition only; combinations of scholarships and external assistance cannot exceed tuition or apply to other charges unless otherwise specified. Scholarships below are only available to undergraduate students unless specified.

Please see application process and date of award for specifics. Amounts may increase or decrease based on annual assessed value of the scholarship's investment instruments. Scholarships are not renewable unless otherwise stated.


Scholarship Amount Criteria Application Process
Alleen Preston Jones Scholarship Presented to students attending Columbia College in any field of study. Available to Day and Evening students. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Assisting Women's Achievement Scholarship   Presented to a Day Campus, Evening Campus or Nursing student who is female, age 25 or over with at least a 2.75 GPA. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Assisting Women's Achievement scholarships for Nursing $3000
per year		 Female students, Mid-Missouri resident, US Citizen and 25 years or older enrolled in the nursing program. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Associate Degree
Transfer Grant		 $375 ($75 per session) Any student transferring to Columbia College with an associate’s degree may apply for this $375 transfer grant for his or her first year. This grant is non-renewable and is not need-based. To receive and remain eligible for the grant, the student must maintain satisfactory academic progress according to established institutional policy and must be continuously enrolled as a full-time student.

Carol Frobish Scholarship   Presented to a returning female business major with at least a 3.0 GPA. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document.

CCAA Lifelong Learning Grant (formerly Warranted Degree)

 One free course Awarded to students who've completed the highest Columbia College undergraduate degree available at the time of graduation. For graduates of Christian Female College, this would be the associate degree and for graduates of Columbia College it is the bachelor's degree. Eligible students may enroll in one course, free of charge, if five years have elapsed since receiving their degree, they owe no fees, and they are not in default on federal loans. Students may enroll for credit or as auditors in courses being offered during the regularly scheduled semesters or sessions, provided space is available and course pre-requisites are met. Students are required to pay lab fees and for textbooks associated with the courses. Students are permitted to enroll in one free course in each subsequent five-year period but may not accumulate free courses. The CCAA Lifelong Learning Grant cannot be used for graduate-level courses or any online courses. The student must be admitted to Columbia College. (Apply for admission)
After they are admitted, they must complete and submit an application for institutional aid.
Centurytel Foundation Scholarship $300 Presented to students who are residents of Missouri having cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or better. Must show evidence of need. Must be incoming freshman, transfer student, or senior. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Coast Guard Spouse Grant 50% tuition grant for in-seat or online undergraduate courses. The overall award maximum is limited to $4,000. To be eligible, the student must be the spouse of an active duty Coast Guard military member, degree seeking in an associate degree program (excluding the Associate of General Studies degree program) and fully admitted to Columbia College. The discount does not apply to students whose tuition is covered under other tuition assistance programs. This grant cannot be used in conjunction with any other Columbia College tuition discounts or grants. Student must submit the grant application before registering and show military dependent identification card to campus for verification (online students may submit the Military Status Form). Renewable for maximum of three years after grant first used. Complete and submit a Coast Guard Spouse Grant Form. A new application must be completed each academic year. Online campus students must also submit the Military Status Form.
Col. Charles E. McGee Scholarship $1000 Competitive Award available to a military veteran who is degree-seeking with a 2.5 GPA. Complete and submit a Col. McGee Scholarship Application along with essay and references. The application deadline is early in each calendar year for awards starting in August. The deadline for submission, eligibility requirements and the application can be found here. Award split between August, October, January and March sessions in academic year.
Columbia College Nursing Scholarship $1500
per year		 Presented to an outstanding nursing student. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Boone County Endowed Award up to $1000 Recipients must be Boone County residents who can demonstrate involvement in community service. Students also must have a 3.1 cumulative GPA or 280 GED and 22 ACT/1020 SAT. Complete and submit a Boone County Endowed Scholarship Application along with letters of recommendation, and activities resume by March 31.
eScholarship $1,000

The eScholarship is a one-time award designed to reward outstanding achievement in online study at Columbia College. The award will be for the upcoming academic year to undergraduate students who, in addition to meeting the minimum criteria, demonstrate a history of academic excellence and personal growth as a result of taking online courses with Columbia College.  At the time of application, the student must meet the following criteria:

  • Have successfully completed at least three online courses during the current academic year.
  • Have at least 21 hours of coursework with Columbia College (in-seat or online).  9 of the hours should have been taken during the previous academic year.
  • Be a degree-seeking, undergraduate student working on 1st baccalaureate (bachelors) degree.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 with Columbia College.
  • Complete the application form and short answer form and submit to your campus no later than June 15.
 Please contact the Evening Campus for an eScholarship application.  Completed applications and short answer form must be returned to the Evening Campus.
Evening Program Scholarship   Awarded to a student in the Evening Campus, 25 years of age or older, with a 3.5 or higher cumulative G.P.A., who has earned at least 42 credit hours from Columbia College. When more than one student qualifies, G.P.A., financial need, and service to the College or community will be considered. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Frank Westling Scholarship $500 Awarded to a Nationwide Campus student attending a branch location at the time award is given, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, who has met the residence requirement for the degree being sought. Complete and submit a Westling scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Jackolyn Lois Barnhouse Memorial Scholarship   Awarded to an Evening Campus student who is a single mother concentrating her studies in Humanities, with a minimum of 24 hours completed at Columbia College and a 2.5 GPA or higher at Columbia College. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Jolene Schulz Scholarship   Day or Evening student with preference from Boone County; second preference from Macon County. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Lizbeth Brydges Metscher Scholarship   Awarded to a returning female Evening Campus student 30 years of age or older, who has a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average and who has earned 42 or more credit hours from Columbia College. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Mary Alice Robertson Simon-Merideth Scholarship   Presented to a major in either mathematics or science. Student must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Mary Isabel Omer Scholarship   Junior or senior Day Campus or Evening Campus students majoring in psychology (counseling) or education (w/strong emphasis in psych). Must have grade point averages of 3.0 or higher and show evidence of need. (Cross-listed with Education and History & Social Sciences). Military Spouse Tuition Grant 20% tuition discount for undergraduate in-seat classes To be eligible the student must be the spouse of an active duty, guard or reserves member. The discount does not apply to online coursework, nor does it apply to students whose tuition is covered under tuition assistance programs other than the MyCAA program. This grant cannot be used in conjunction with the two-in-family grant. Student must submit the grant application before registering and show military dependent identification card to campus for verification. Complete and submit a Military Spouse Tuition Grant form . A new application must be completed each academic year. Online campus students must also submit the Military Status Form.
Robert M. McDaniels Scholarship   Awarded to a returning, full-time, non-traditional Evening student who is 25 years of age or older, has a 3.0 or higher cumulative grade point average and who has earned 42 or more credit hours from Columbia College. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February.
Rose Lamb Accounting Scholarship   Awarded to an Evening accounting student who has 12 hours of accounting with a minimum 3.25 G.P.A.; an overall G.P.A. of 3.0; and evidence of financial need. Complete and submit an Evening Campus scholarship applicationPDF document. Applications are due in early to mid-February. A Letter of Application stating the student's goals and need for the scholarship must be submitted along with the application.
Silver Citizen Discount 50% tuition reduction Awarded to students 65 years of age or older. Students are required to pay all other charges in connection with enrollment, coursework and graduation. Not available for online classes or graduate classes. New application must be completed each academic year. Complete and submit an application for institutional aid.
Spouse's Opportunity Grant Amount is tuition for one in-seat course. Awarded to spouse of active duty military members. Student must be seeking first undergraduate degree and be enrolled in first course at Columbia College (scholarship does not apply to online coursework). Student must submit the scholarship application before registering and show military dependent identification card to campus for verification. Submit Spouse's Opportunity Grant application to campus show military identification card for verification of status.
Two-in-Family Grant $75 per session Awarded to full-time students with an immediate family member (parent, child, sibling, spouse) enrolled full-time at Columbia College. Renewable with good academic standing and continued full time enrollment for both family members. Complete and submit an application for institutional aid. New application must be completed each academic year.
